To spell this out plain and simple… making connections in the industry is crucial. It’s not as easy as just going to school and getting a degree in music business and hoping things happen for you. It’s about getting out there, getting experience, and getting your hands a little dirty first. Experience is key and along the way you will meet many people.

Wisdom for the day: Write down the contact information of every industry professional you meet because they could possibly help you in the future.

Yes, that statement is very cliche, but connections/networking are very important. You must first establish these relationships and also keep them as well. Keep in contact with the people you meet because you never know what could happen in the future.

This post was meant to be straight forward and I’m sure you get the point. Just keep this thought in the back of your mind whenever you meet anyone industry related.

Once again, feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions at theindustryinsider@yahoo.com

I will either personally respond or your question might even get answered on a future post.
